Rivalry

The Green Bay Packers are the big rival of the Chicago Bears. This rivalry has been around ever since the 1920’s. This is one of the oldest rivalries in all of sports. The Green Bay Packers used to be independent and not a part of the NFL until they joined in 1921. Back in that time, the owner of the Bears got the Packers expelled from the league to avoid them from signing a certain player. Chicago ended up signing that player and then getting the league to let the Packers back in. I would imagine something like that would create some tension between two teams. Throughout the years, the rivalry has stuck with the two teams. They play each other quite often. The Packers have beaten the Bears more times, but not by much. It is always fun to watch these two teams play each other.

  1. Todd Matthews

One of the most storied franchises in NFL History, it was great to see the Bears return to prominence this season with a 12-4 finish. Owning a piece of Bears history is a treat not just for fans of the Chicago Bears, but for NFL fans in general. Players like Dick Butkus, Walter Payton, Jim McMahon, William Perry, and Brian Urlacher are franchise cornerstones while up and coming players like Mitchell Trubisky and Smith will continue the Bears’ rich tradition. And of course, we can’t forget about Khalil Mack, traded from the Raiders before the 2018 season.

Another plus about the Bears is the fact their jerseys and uniform are timeless. The navy and burnt orange are just as hip today as it was in the 1960s and will be decades from today. With each generation of players wearing identical looks, it links Trubisky to McMahon, Smith to Urlacher, and Urlacher to Butkus. They’re some of the greatest uniforms in NFL hisotry.

    • Thank you for the comments. Yes, they truly are some of the best jerseys in the NFL. It is fun to look back and see how the Bears legends connect with each other.
